New Resource! Move Well, Move Often

Move Well, Move Often - Supporting inclusion of all pupils in the development of Physical Literacy and Fundamental Movement Skills was developed by teachers on the PDST Primary PE Team with support from NCSE. The resource is designed to be used in tandem with the Move Well, Move Often resource. It highlights a range of approaches and methodologies that teachers can use to remove barriers to participation, to enable achievement of learning outcomes across the PE curriculum for all pupils. It aims to enable the teacher to create an environment and conditions in which each pupil can flourish according to their own capability. In this resource, a sample selection of 5 activities from each of the three Move Well, Move Often Activity Books are presented to highlight strategies for inclusion for pupils with physical disabilities and learning needs and pupils who are autistic, blind or vision impaired, or deaf or hard of hearing. Teachers can then apply these strategies to all of the activities in the Move Well, Move Often resource where required. The resource also features an inclusive unit of work for each of the 6 strands of the PE curriculum - Dance, Athletics, Outdoor & Adventure Activities, Games, Gymnastics and Aquatics.

This resource was shared a the INTO Special Education Conference in February 2022 and officially launched at the Irish Primary PE Association (IPPEA) Conference in October 2022.
