Free Online Summer Courses 2023
Free online summer courses 2023 - Enrolment opened on 3rd May, 2023, for two online primary summer courses. Both courses are approved for EPV days. The courses were developed by PDST Technology in Education in collaboration with colleagues from Scoilnet and Webwise respectively.
Multimedia Projects on Climate and Sustainability, July 3-20
This very topical course draws on high quality resources from Scoilnet's hub for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). Participants will learn how to create climate-themed multimedia resources such as video, newsletters or podcasts. You will leave the course with lots of ideas from other teachers and an action plan outlining the steps you will take to use digital technology to support this important topic in an inclusive way in your classroom.
Introduction to Digital Citizenship Education (Primary), July 3-20
This course will help you to both understand digital citizenship and show you how to teach and model digital citizenship in your classroom and your school. Digital Citizenship is about helping young people to learn how to safely and responsibly navigate the online environment. It encompasses skills including, media literacy, creativity, wellbeing online, communication, inclusion, rights and responsibilities and others.
Intending participants must choose one course only and self-enrol via the above links, using their Scoilnet account. Enrolment closes when all places are taken.
