Ag-Venture 2018


PDST Ag Science ‘Ag-Venture 2018’ -  13th April (Fitzgerald's Vienna Woods Hotel, Cork) and 14th April (Kane Building, UCC).

The events are in conjunction with IASTA and University College Cork - “Bringing tomorrow’s agricultural research into our schools laboratories”




Friday 13th April – Fitzgerald's Vienna Woods Hotel, Cork – registration at 5.40 p.m.

  • Talks on - Potato growing

                - Soils

                - Plant nutrition


Saturday 14th April – Kane Building, University College Cork – 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.

  • Introduction to new Ag Science specification (syllabus)- input from PDST
  • Talks on - Grassland 

                - Plant genetics

  • Laboratory workshop- Microbiology- with a particular emphasis on milk tests.
  • Up-to-date Ag science related research taking place in UCC.
